Automotive processes such as welding, painting, and metalworking produce particulates, fumes, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can clog traditional heat exchangers. Heat is generated at varying rates and temperatures across different processes that make it difficult to capture and reuse efficiently. Also, processes like forging and casting operate at extremely high temperatures, which can be challenging for traditional heat recovery systems to withstand. In such situations, to recover heat, you need to 'break the mold' and look for a heavy duty solution!

Without energy recovery (2)

Lepido, the heavy duty industrial heat exchanger thrives in harsh environments, recovering energy while allowing particles that would normally clog up the system, to simply pass through. Lepido is resilient against pollutants like fumes, and particulate matter and is suitable for diverse automotive applications as it seamlessly integrates into a Run-Around-Circuit, overcoming the Coanda effect. Lepido ensures optimal efficiency and is designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures.

The recovered heat can be used to heat replacement air or returned to the process itself by preheating liquid/air. For example, the recovered heat from exhaust air from spray booths, curing ovens, metal stamping furnaces, welding stations etc. can be used to preheat the incoming fresh air for the spray booths and curing ovens or the process air / water for enhancing the efficiency of the stamping and forging operations.  The recovered heat can also be used within the plant for space heating.

Lepido’s innovative design facilitates easy cleaning and no downtime.
